It's Friday Love #105

The last of my strips with Nicole. Time for some booth-in' and it's always better when I'm not alone. Yes, that's a hint. And all you party peeps heading to SF in July, get ready for some boothy love.

The little stuff.

• Embarrassingly, I'm new to Greek yogurt. With a ridiculous amount of protein, I may have uncovered my super food.
• It's official. My derby league has merged with another derby league. Much closer, (5 miles vs. 30), and hopefully with us in the mix, much better.
• My poor camera is in the shop, received by Nikon early this week. I sent a very detailed letter. The updates show a very different problem found. Covered by warranty, I felt hopeful, until the latest update: Parts hold is not encouraging.
• As a diversion, I got my hands on some Polaroid film.

• The divine Miss A. Mother's Day deliciousness from my girl. This is my card,

It's Friday Love #104

Photo booth Friday. It's good to be back.

The little stuff.

• Neen and HP are ditching the trail early when I pick their frozen, weary arses up in NY and deposit them in the garden state. Their early, aborted trip is my gain; I get an extra day of visiting.
• A margarita and enchilada fiesta planned for Saturday night.
• The last game for my derby league this Sunday. More on that later.
• Bittersweet chocolate bars with almonds from Trader Joe's.
• My new office.

The little stuff.

• Taking cardio outside with a walk on Thursday, singing  out loud with the i-Pod.
• Losing my drivers license on that walk and finding good in the situation. At least it happened on a day when I was picking miss A up late I said to myself, and I let go of being angry. I collected my 6 points of identification, shoved my novel into my bag and went to the MVC, prepared. 20 minutes and eleven dollars later, I had my duplicate, stat.
• My new, wee friends from this sweet etsy shop.

• A weekend full of roller derby.
  

It's Friday Love #102

The little stuff.

• M is out of town this weekend, it's just me and miss A god help us until Monday. We've had a rough patch lately and I'm hoping we get into a groove and stop with it all.
• I'm planning to catch up on my shows, watch a movie and load music onto my i-Pod.
• Thursday was the first day at my new office. I'm still in the current digs, but I've added one day in a new location. I have to consciously remind myself that I work this extra day; it hasn't sunk in yet. Stay tuned.
• A and I are having a coffee-tea party on Sunday. Susanna's coming and I hope others can make it as well.

It's Friday Love #101

I've heard that this month's theme is fools, perfect for April. And I've been dying for an opportunity to pull my favorite strip from the archives - I can think of no better strip (in my possession), than this one.

The little stuff.

• Hearing a woodpecker and being able to locate him as he circled our tree outside.
• Date night in the city, with a few, extra hours before-hand,  all to myself. Glossimer is on the agenda.
• Seven. What a yummy age.
• Walking to and from the dentist on Thursday with my camera; a total surprise when I got home as I realized I had taken 55 shots around the neighborhood.

Andrea's been mixing it up over at photo booth Friday with a theme, (if you choose), each month. March is faceless. I had this great idea: a strip of the kiddie song, head, shoulders, knees and toes. Much harder to accomplish inside the booth than I'd imagined. This was the best of the four frames.

• A derby-filled weekend. First, a double header, and then practice on Sunday with team photos. The best part? Time with H.
• Chocolove dark chocolate with orange peel. The chilies and cherries in dark chocolate sounds good too.
• Cup after cup of black tea. Piggy-backed of course, with water.

• Photo booth photo albums.
• Spring forward on Sunday. I know it's early this year. But this does my winter-weary soul good.
• Small buds on the tree outside my kitchen window. The lightest shimmering green.
• Phone conversations and coffee dates. I'm not getting a lot done around here; but the connections, they feed my soul.

I promise only 1 more post with a gazillion photos, back to regularly scheduled program next week.

It's Friday Love #96

Photo booth Friday. I was getting nervous that it would be longer than a week; what with no strippies and no one offering their tuckus to sit with me inside a small box. The mister always gives good booth, but you'll have to wait for that. Andrea had a challenge this month and seeing that it's the very last day, I thought I'd play.

The little stuff.

• Neen is in town. Yay me.
• The start of another 365 project.
• Sharing a truth. Even though it wasn't received as I'd hoped, knowing it's always good to speak from your heart.
• My job.
• This bag. Come on, you know you want one.

Heard.

Twice in the last week, my girl has blown me away. First with humor and then, straight from the heart.

"A, why do you keep touching my jewelry?" 

(this drives me nuts, the constant touching of my things. soon enough she'll be borrowing my shit, let me enjoy it for awhile.)

"Mama, I've got hands and their job is to touch."  Word.

As we're driving to school,

"I want to send three balloons to heaven, mama. One for Grandma Lynn, one for Grandma Miriam and one for Grandpa Harold. And I want a rose on each."  The heart, she swells.
