It's Friday I'm in Love #29

Photo booth Friday.

Movies. Finally catching up on films that have been  on my to watch list like, forever. This film broke my heart a little. Ok, a lot. If you've seen it, you'll know why. I love when a film is circuitous and this film is subtly so. Please do rent this one, it won't disappoint.

Dexter.  This new series on Showtime is creepy with a capital C. I didn't start the series when it began, so I'm now catching up, on demand. I can only watch one episode at a time. The show is good in a very sick and twisted way.

Favorite Threadless t-shirt.

Treats from under a pink sky. The mailman delivered a package from lovely and generous Mindy this week. A candle, some tea, a beautiful card, a little sparkly rock and the. best. chocolate bar. I didn't even know that two favorites (dark chocolate and crystallized ginger) were combined into a love-filled bar. The best part? M doesn't care for ginger, especially crystallized, and so the entire bar is for me.

Massage. There's a Thai woman at the center where I have my office, who I've seen twice. I'm incredibly lucky to get forty percent discount on treatments the center offers; the luxury of a massage now more affordable. Strong of hand, I now don't need to be massaged by a man, because B gives it good. She also doesn't talk, recently telling me she meditates instead. B has magic in her hands. During a massage, her hands  change temperature; suddenly warm, almost hot, and then just as quickly, cool again.  She knows what is ailing a body and uses many of the Chinese meridians as pressure points during a massage. I find myself thinking yes, I have issues there, oh and there too. Instinctively, she works on the channels where I hold my issues. Often during acupuncture, the energy release and rush can bring tears so when I felt my eyes welling during a recent massage, I let them come. The next day I felt vulnerable and fragile, but emotionally clear. While I've only experienced deep tissue work with B, her speciality is Thai massage. I'm scheduled this afternoon for a session and I'm a little apprehensive and I contemplated canceling my appointment. Which means I need to be there.

The divine miss A. Tooth #4 (top right) lost on Halloween, while eating Dots.

'mama, this candy tastes yucky.' And like any good not! mama, I told my girl to spit it out what she had in her mouth, into the pile of leaves next to our porch. Even though M had just finished saying that the tooth was ripe to come out, as she stuffed her face with those Dots. Dude, I knew that tooth was all snaggle-toothed! Noticing blood on her lip moments later, I realized why the candy tasted bad, rushed inside to find the flashlight, frantically digging in the dirty leaves for a tiny white tooth. You can guess how that turned out, pfft. A sweet note to the tooth fairy, detailing the tooth's location, was left by miss A. Found the next morning in the key drawer, stuffed there by M. 'why didn't the tooth fairy take my note?' I offered some lame excuse while giving my husband the hairy eyeball and gratefully, A was too excited by the tooth fairy's offering, this book, to question any further.

New friends of the family.

Tucked above our front steps, we've got new friends. Each evening they come home and A has grown quite fond of the birds, naming them (from L to R): Sofina, Nina and Millie. She gets very worried when they don't come home and has decided when they aren't in their roost, that they've fallen asleep elsewhere. I just hope they make it thru the winter; M is skeptical.

Lucky me.
